Lawrence L. Jackson was elected mayor of Riverdale on April 9, 2013 and was sworn in on May 2, 2013. Prior to becoming Mayor, Jackson was elected village trustee in 2009. As a trustee, Mayor Jackson chaired the Police committee and served on both the Finance and Administration committees. Mayor Jackson was employed with the Cook County Department of Corrections as a Correctional Rehabilitation Worker for ten years, providing social services to incarcerated males.
Mayor Jackson graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts and received a Master of Arts from Governors State University.
Mayor Jackson is married and has one child.

I am a lifelong resident of Riverdale (48 years) and an experienced construction tradesman. My background features managing a local 200-unit senior center (Maintenance Supervisor) and broad experience in union carpentry, home construction/remodeling and supervision of contractor work. My skills were employed at Chicago’s Park Shore Towers, Harold Washington library and Presidential Towers. I bring supervisory knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing sewage systems and construction budgeting.
I attended Queen of Apostles Elementary School in Riverdale, Marian High School and I earned an Associate’s Degree from South Suburban College. My focus has been on oversight of Village construction helping to correct areas of deferred maintenance. I chair the Fire, Inspectional Services and Zoning Committee.
Having lived in the Village for my entire life, I take pride in working closely with the Mayor, supporting his upgrading of Village services and improving the daily lives of Riverdale residents.
Cassandra L Riley-Pinkney is a newly elected member to the Riverdale Board of Trustees sworn in on May 5, 2015. Prior to joining the board of trustees, Mrs. Pinkney was appointed to serve on the Riverdale Zoning Board of Appeals, and currently serves as chair over the Public Works Committee. She retired from Chicago State University after thirty years of service as the pre-clinical coordinator for student teachers in the College of Education. She received a Master of Arts Degree in Higher Education Administration from Chicago State University. She and her husband, Douglas have four adult children and have been residents of Riverdale since 1993. "The village of Riverdale is a community in transition that require the support of all of its residents in the struggle to achieve community and economic growth."
ERIK LeVERE has been a proud resident of Riverdale for over 23 years and is married with 6 children. All of whom were raised in the Village of Riverdale. He recently retired from the state of Illinois after 30 years of service. He was also a Teamster Union Member. He recently worked with Riverdale Park District as a Park District Commissioner. As a Park District Commissioner, he helped with the restoration efforts in restoring community programs, such as Little League, Boy Scouts, etc. He is a Marine Corp Veteran that has served his country with honor and integrity and now serving his village.
Village Clerk Karen Holcomb, a Village of Riverdale resident for 27 years and has worked for the Village of Riverdale for almost 16 years. Elected Clerk on April 9, 2013, I’m a member of the Illinois Municipal Clerk’s Association as well as member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. I’m currently working toward my CMC – Certified Municipal Clerk accreditation. My office provides access to public legislation and records, water billing, sells vehicle stickers, provides voter registration, issuance and maintains business licenses, sells vehicle stickers, collection of monies owed to the Village. I’m in attendance at all Village Board Meetings and takes and preserves the minutes, keeper of the Village Seal, responds to foias, election officer and administers oaths.
