Water Distribution / Leak Repairs

Sanitary Sewer Back-Up

If you notice a problem with your sanitary service backing up, we recommend that you contact Public Works before calling a plumber. We will check the main sewer line to make sure it is clear.

If the main sewer is clear, the resident should contact a plumber (at their expense) to have line cleaned out. The majority the time, the blockage is the residents' responsibility. It is always best to have Public Works check main sewer line first.

Water Main Breaks

Water Main breaks occur throughout the year and requires the water to be shutoff without notice. After repairs are complete, the water may be slightly cloudy but will clear after running for a short time.

Water Leaks in Your Home

Even a leak the size of a pinhole can waste 170 gallons of water a day. Typically inside your home the bathroom facilities constitute nearly 75% of the water used. A leaky toilet can waste as much as 200 gallons a day.
